What data we collect and how we use it.

Last updated

Template notice: This page is a starting template, not legal advice. It must be reviewed and adapted by a qualified lawyer for the jurisdictions in which the publication operates before launch.

Summary

We collect the minimum data needed to run the publication.

Data we collect

  • Newsletter subscribers: email address, chosen newsletters, sign-up source, and a record of consent (date, consent wording version). We do not store IP addresses for consent records.
  • Contact form: the name, email address and message you send us.
  • Audience measurement: we count page views using a cookieless method. We store the page visited, the referring website's domain, campaign parameters, and a pseudonymous identifier that changes every day and cannot be used to track you across days.
  • Optional third-party tools: if you accept cookies, we may load analytics or advertising tools whose providers process data under their own policies.

How we use data

To send newsletters you asked for, respond to messages, understand which articles are useful, and operate and secure the site.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. Contact us to exercise your rights.

Retention

Newsletter data is retained while you are subscribed and for a limited period afterwards to honour your unsubscribe request. Contact messages are retained as long as needed to handle your request.
