Jay-Z will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show. The NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation announced it during Monday Night Football's Cowboys–Eagles game on 26 October. The game is on Sunday, 14 February 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

A long-awaited moment

Although his company Roc Nation has produced the halftime show since 2019, and recently extended that deal through 2029, Jay-Z has never performed at a Super Bowl. ESPN reported that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said that when the league first partnered with Roc Nation, he asked for one thing: that Jay-Z take the stage himself "whenever the moment felt right to him."

"From 'Reasonable Doubt' to standing on the Super Bowl halftime stage, this has been a journey," Jay-Z said in a statement. Reasonable Doubt was his 1996 debut album.

"Goat's Out of the Bag"

Apple Music marked the news with a black-and-white ad showing Jay-Z in an empty stadium surrounded by goats, ending with the line "Goat's Out Of The Bag." Puck and Deadline had reported on 20 October that he had been chosen. Puck said he was picked over Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber.
