Anthropic, the artificial intelligence company behind the Claude chatbot, filed publicly on Monday, 26 October, to list on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker ANT. The company announced the filing on its own newsroom, and the registration statement is now on the US Securities and Exchange Commission's EDGAR database.

What the filing says, and what it doesn't

The document leaves the core offering terms blank: there is no price range, no share count and no fundraising target yet. Those usually arrive in an amended filing shortly before a roadshow. Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley are reported to be leading a syndicate of about 22 banks.

Reporting on the filing says Anthropic recorded about $16.3 billion in revenue in the first half of 2026. It also says the company's seven co-founders keep majority voting control (50.1%) through a special class of share. Those figures come from press analysis of the S-1, and the final prospectus may present them differently.

How much is it worth?

Nobody knows yet. Anthropic's last private funding round, in May 2026, valued it at about $965 billion, according to CNBC. Press estimates for the listing range from roughly $1.5 trillion to $2 trillion. One footnote in the filing implies a much lower internal share value as of 30 September, which some analysts read as closer to $1.2 trillion. All of these are estimates, not company figures.

When could trading start?

Fortune reports that a roadshow could begin 15 days after the public filing, which would allow trading as early as mid-November. Markets reacted on Monday: US tech shares rose on the news, TheStreet reported.

Why it matters

A listing at the reported size would rank among the largest in history and would give public investors their first direct stake in one of the leading AI labs. It would also put the economics of frontier AI, with its huge revenues and huge costs, under quarterly public scrutiny.
